The 2024 PTP Changemakers Awards is a multi-platform content series and live recognition event framed in queer positivity, a celebration that recognizes, promotes, and financially supports people and organizations making a positive impact in the world.
Pink Triangle Press – Canada’s LGBTQ2S+ Content Company
For the last 50 years, Pink Triangle Press (PTP) has been one of the world’s longest running LGBTQ2S+ media organizations. Its journalistic roots are in the iconic magazine The Body Politic which Masthead Magazine called “one of the most influential publications in Canadian history.” This long tradition of influence has continued with Xtra Magazine, the first LGBTQ2S+ publication internationally to be certified as part of The Trust Project and a 2023 Gold Medal winner for overall excellence at the Digital Publishing Awards. PTP also creates audio and video content. Its documentary Small Town Pride has been featured at several film festivals and chosen by Hot Docs in their Docs For Schools program.
Support and Celebrate LGBTQ2S+ People and Organizations
The 2024 PTP Changemakers Awards is a multi-platform content series and the first ever live national Canadian LGBTQ2S+ recognition event. Framed in queer positivity, it is a celebration that recognizes, promotes, and financially supports people and organizations making a positive impact in the world. Five Champions – very prominent LGBTQ2S+ community members – will each nominate a Changemaker – a charity or individual they admire for making a positive impact. Supporting and amplifying LGBTQ2S+ good works is crucial to counter organized campaigns currently targeting our community in order to remind us that positivity can conquer fear. High profile Champions have been confirmed and will be announced in 2024.
PTP is seeking sponsorship support for its Changemaker prizes. Each nominated Changemaker will receive a $10K donation to their charitable organization. There is an opportunity for titled sponsorships for each of the 6 awards. Sponsorships that exceed direct value will be offered tax receipts.
Support LGBTQ2S+ Public Narratives
PTP is committed to amplifying content through media partnerships for its Changemaker initiative which will include broadcast and print partners. The Globe and Mail is a confirmed media partner. The PTP Changemakers Awards event will be in 2024. Donations will support the award prizes, the recognition event, and the creation and distribution of associated content. Sponsorships beyond direct value will be issued a charitable receipt. All charitable donations are eligible for tax receipts.
