The fund commemorates the outstanding life of past employee, Rafe O’Connor, of The Bourgeois Auto Group by endowing children’s programming at We Are The Villagers, a registered Canadian Charity.
The Rafe O’Connor Children’s Fund will be endowed for the local North Simcoe children’s charity We Are the Villagers in honour of the Bourgois Auto Group’s much loved and missed former colleague, Rafe O’Connor.
We Are The Villagers provides funding for children of families of dis-advantaged households who otherwise could not afford the cost of registration and equipment fees for their children’s participation in extra-curricular programs. The goal is to ensure the children are motivated to be social in a safe environment, stay in school and complete their education, build a healthy mental attitude and physical/health lifestyle, and be motivated to obtain meaningful employment upon graduation.
“We at the Bourgeois Auto Group were devastated by the loss of our friend and colleague Rafe O’Connor” comments Adam Bourgeois, President of The Bourgeois Community Giving Fund. “The endowment of a fund to help dis-advantaged children is something that would be very meaningful to Rafe. It will help ensure that his memory lives on in our own lives and that of the community. We also hope it helps to comfort Rafe’s family in this time of loss.”
The Bourgeois Auto Group comprises Bourgeois Ford, Bourgeois Nissan, and Bourgeois Hyundai dealerships located in Midland, Ontario, and Bourgeois Ford North in Parry Sound, Ontario. The Fund supports many activities in the communities serviced by the dealerships.
Friends of Rafe and the public are welcome to contribute to The Rafe O’Connor Children’s Fund. A charitable tax receipt will be issued to everyone who makes a donation.
