We ‘sandwich’ the meal gap for the homeless and food insecure in Toronto. The meal gap is the time period between when local missions provide a hot meal or food bank offering and until they do so again. Club Sandwich has provided over 225,000 sandwiches since June of 2020.
Our goal is to ‘sandwich’ the meal gap that exists for the homeless and food insecure. The meal gap is the time period between when local missions provide a hot meal or food bank offering and until they do so again.
Club Sandwich is a grassroots food security organization with over 1000 volunteers that weekly deliver sandwiches to local missions. Those missions serve them to their guests as a takeaway meal.

100% of your monetary donation goes to purchasing sandwich ingredients for on-site volunteers to make and you will receive a charitable tax receipt.
We use the funds to ‘sandwich’ the meal gap.
We purchase ingredients for onsite volunteers to prepare sandwiches at our clubhouse located at the Neighbourhood Food Hub located at 1470 Gerrard St E, Toronto, ON M4L 2A3 all day Tuesdays and Thursday mornings they get delivered each and every week.
Our weekly logistics work as follows:
Tuesday and Wednesday’s sandwiches made by local area Club Sandwich members get dropped into a contactless bin and moved into a walk-in cooler. Those same onsite volunteers on Tuesdays prepare sandwiches with ingredients purchased via donated monetary funds. On Thursdays at 11am all of the sandwich donations are sorted and volunteer drivers deliver them to up-to 10 local area missions.
Our weekly sandwich drive currently supports Toronto area charities including Good Shepherd Ministries, St. John the Compassionate Mission, Danforth Church, Fontbonne Ministries Mustard Seed, St. Luke’s United Church, Bethany Baptist Church, Eastview Community Centre Senior’s Outreach Programming, CFTO, South Riverdale Community Centre and more being added when we can sustainably guarantee a weekly delivery to each.
Thank you for helping ‘sandwich’ the meal gap for the homeless and the food insecure.

I love the down-to-earth, grassroots nature of Club Sandwich…just people helping people, neighbours helping neighbours. Awesome initiative of giving during hard times.
Thank you all for what you do!
I strongly believe in paying it forward because you never know if you will be on the receiving end
I believe paying it forward when you are fortunate because you never know where life may take you or you maybe on the receiving end
Darryl you are an inspiration. Keep up your hard work!
Fantastic work!
Absolutely amazing to watch this organization grow!
Keep Jamming!
Can’t make sandwiches this week but want to donate. Thanks club sandwich!
Darryl, I’m in awe of what you have accomplished with Club Sandwich.
Love this initiative, such a simple, kind way to support the community
Donation from plant sale.
I have been donating the same amount every month almost since the start of this project. Due to covid I am unable to return to Toronto at this time. If I can’t be there to make sandwiches, I can help others to do it! This is just such an amazing coming together of people helping people and I am so happy to be a part in it all.
I plan to keep making sandwiches when time allows but my schedule has gone crazy. I hope a weekly contribution can help keep the sandwich train running.
Inspired by the community coming together to help those less fortunate, supporting our neighbours with kindness and dignity.
I’m here because of Darryl Nielsen!
It’s important that we support our own community, knowing that there are so many individuals and families in need. Darryl, you are an inspiration. Happy to support Club Sandwich.
Fantastic what you are doing, Daryl!
Amazing work sandwich club!
Happy birthday Darryl!
Happy birthday, Darryl! Great work!
I had a conversation with a dear friend whom makes sandwiches and is so passionate to do so.
I live a little distance but want to make a difference.
Bless all of you xo
Have a great event tonight. Sorry I cannot make it.
So proud to be a part of this community – we don’t make sandwiches as much as we used to so I wanted to also contribute here! Keep it up!!

A very worthwhile charity, neighbours helping neighbours, especially when 100% of donations goes to purchase food.
