The Grapes & Growth Wine Camp is a groundbreaking 5-day immersive experience created for BIPOC professionals working across the wine industry. Through hands-on workshops, expert-led tastings, mentorship, and direct access to industry leaders, this program provides a rare opportunity to learn, connect, and grow in a space where BIPOC voices are often underrepresented.

With less than 1% of Canadian winery owners or head winemakers identifying as BIPOC, this camp addresses a long-standing need for access, visibility, and equitable career development. Grapes & Growth is more than education—it’s about shifting the face of wine in Canada by opening doors and building networks for those who have traditionally been excluded.

In fall 2024, our inaugural wine camp brought together 12 talented BIPOC professionals for an unforgettable, career-shaping experience. From the science of soil to the art of winemaking, participants left with new knowledge, deepened confidence, and lasting community.

“Grapes & Growth is one of the most unique programs ever.”
Lorna Kipkosgei, 2024 participant

“Fresh perspectives and collaboration amongst different areas of expertise are drivers of innovation… this is why Vinequity’s work is so important.”
Dairen Temple, Executive Director, OGWRI
