Veritas Fall Food Drive Helps Our Local Community with Record Fundraising

A most sincere THANK YOU to all the donors and the volunteers who supported a record Fall 2022 Veritas Food Drive in benefit of the Weston Area Emergency Support (WAES) food bank. There was a special magic in the air.

Together, your generosity raised a record $3,560, which translates into thousands of meals for Weston residents ahead of what’s shaping up to be a very challenging winter season.

This is our fourth event since the start of COVID and it proved that the power of doing good is contagious. It showed in the expression on our young helpers’ faces and it spawned a random $100 donation from an onlooker and an extra $50 from the Weston SuperStore.

Unfortunately, food banks rank highly among the Veritas500 Fastest Growing Charities 2022 Report and have become an unfortunate fact of life in major Canadian urban centers. Hopefully, collective efforts of generous and community-minded people continue to support critical service organizations like WAES and make the lives of our neighbours better.
